Started tearing down the Faema Special S87. After seeing the shape of everything, I’m thinking the best thing to do is remove all components from the frame and disassemble the frame for rust removal.
After taking apart and taking stock of the condition of my newest espresso machine, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s in very rough shape. It’s missing its main switch, which shouldn’t be too hard to replace, and the inside has lots of rust, dirt and scale. The electronics board also has a fused relay. […]
This is my newest project: a Faema Special S87-2 that I found on Craigslist. Looks to be in pretty rough shape and missing some things, but it was super cheap. I hope to turn this into a beautiful, working espresso machine.
